Start with your hydraulic flow
Flow decides which mulcher you can run. Check your skid steer's GPM before looking at anything else.
- Standard flow: The GIYI 43" disc mulcher (GYX-DM43) runs on 14-22 GPM. The Raytree RMBD50 50" drum mulcher is also a standard flow model.
- High flow: The Raytree RMDM70 60" disc mulcher is made for high-flow skid steers. The Raytree RMBD72 72" forestry drum mulcher is listed for 30–45 GPM. The RMDM72 72" mulcher with hydraulic door is also built for high-flow systems.
Disc or drum
- Disc mulchers: The RMDM70 has a 12-inch cutting capacity and 44 hardened cutting teeth. The GIYI GYX-DM43 has 54 replaceable teeth and is aimed at brush clearing and vegetation management.
- Drum mulchers: The Raytree 72" models use a piston motor, an anti-winding drum design to reduce clogging, and bolt-on replaceable teeth. The RMBD50 also has a piston motor.

- Case drain: The RMBD50 includes a case drain hose and coupler. The RMBD72 lists a case drain as required, so confirm your machine can support one.
- Deflector door: The RMDM72 is listed with a hydraulic door. Check the product page for the door details on the other models.
- Spare teeth: The RMBD50 comes with 4 spare teeth.
