How to choose
This category covers equipment that doesn't fit a single attachment group, so start with the job you need done.
- Surface prep and cleaning: the JCT DB500 is a wet, dustless pressure-pot abrasive blaster. It has a water inlet valve on the tank and comes with the blast hose and air lines. It sits on a two-wheel cart with a push handle, so you can move it around a job site or yard.
- Towing and recovery: the Promech FW80 is an unused fifth wheel wrecker. It drops onto a semi tractor's fifth wheel and turns the tractor into a tow truck.
- Tire and wheel service: the AGT tire changer and AGT wheel balancer both cover 10"–24" wheels. They suit tire shops, repair facilities and garages.
What to look for
Fifth wheel wrecker. Check the rated figures against the work you plan to do. The FW80 lists a 70 kN max lift force and a 2-5/16 in hook ball rated at 12,000 lb. It has a 50 mm tow pin, four 1/2 in bullhorn tow hooks and a wired pendant control. LED stop, tail and turn lights and an amber beacon are included. The battery is 12V 80Ah.
Wheel balancer. The AGT balancer offers static and dynamic balancing and four ALU modes. It is accurate to ±1 gram and takes wheels up to 154 lb. An LED display keeps operation simple.
Tire changer. The AGT machine is pneumatic and uses foot-pedal operation. It has a self-centering four-jaw clamp and a swing-arm design. The turntable rotates forward and in reverse. Protective components at the wheel contact points help guard the wheel.
Sand blaster. Wet blasting is the reason to choose the DB500 if you want to cut down dust. Confirm that your air supply suits a pressure-pot blaster before you order.
