Shipping Containers — Questions We Get Asked
- Do you make custom-size container shelters for a non-standard gap between containers?
- No. Container-mounted shelters come in standard widths: 20 feet, 26 feet, and up to 40 feet between containers. 20 feet is the smallest we offer.
- Do Covermore shipping containers have wood or metal floors?
- Covermore's shipping containers have wood floors. Covermore hasn't had any with just a metal floor; that would be more of a custom special-order item.
- Does the delivery driver level a shipping container?
- No — Covermore's delivery driver sets the container down on the ground and doesn't level it or set it on blocks, so the pad or ground needs to already be level before delivery.
- What's the difference between a new and a used shipping container?
- A Covermore shipping container is called new if it's a one-trip container that came straight across the ocean. It's called wind and water tight if it has made multiple trips back and forth instead.
- Can a container shelter be mounted on the inside or outside edge of the containers?
- Yes. The shelters attach with twist-locks to the container corner castings and can be mounted along either the inner or the outer edge of the container tops.
- Can a container shelter be mounted on something other than shipping containers?
- Yes. On containers, the shelter mounts with twist-locks at the four top corners. Off containers, those twist-locks are cut off and the base plates bolt to a wood or concrete surface.
- Do you offer hoop buildings designed to mount directly onto shipping containers?
- Yes - we have hoop building kits designed to stretch from container to container, with brackets that secure to the shipping containers instead of needing side walls.
- What standard widths do shipping-container hoop buildings come in?
- Standard options are 26 feet and 40 feet across, sized to match common shipping container spacing.
- When a shipping container is delivered, can the driver set it on blocks, or does the customer need to do that after drop-off?
- No, the delivery driver just sets the container on the ground — our delivery does not have the capability to set it on blocks.
