Disc or drum: pick the cutting style
The three mulchers on this page use two designs.
- Disc mulcher: The Captok EDM39 has a 39-inch cutting diameter and 56 blades. It also has a case drain line and is listed for CAT 320 excavators.
- Drum mulcher: The Raytree 32″ grinds brush and small trees with a carbide-toothed drum. The Raytree 50″ REDM50S has a 50-inch effective cutting width and a 12-inch cutting capacity.
Match the mulcher to your excavator
Check your excavator's hydraulics and size before you compare cutting width.
- Captok EDM39: It needs 30–60 L/min of hydraulic flow at 10–22 MPa working pressure. It runs at 200–400 r/min.
- Raytree 50″ REDM50S: It is listed for 12–20 ton excavators and needs 30–65 GPM of flow. It has a high torque piston motor and an 80mm pin diameter. Its overall size is L75″ x W27″ x H36.5″.
- Raytree 32″: The listing gives no flow, pressure or excavator-size specs. Confirm these with us before you order.
Flow is listed in L/min on the Captok and in GPM on the Raytree, so convert before you compare them. Also confirm that the pin size and mounting fit your machine's coupler.
Buying and shipping
The Captok and the Raytree 32″ are listed as new. The Raytree 50″ listing doesn't say, so ask about its condition before you buy. Financing is available on all three. The Captok listing shows a flat-rate shipping charge. We ship nationwide by freight from Chouteau, Oklahoma, near Tulsa. Ask us about shipping on the Raytree models.
