Mini Excavator Attachment Pin Size: Will It Fit Your Machine?

1 min readChupp Industrial

Whether a mini excavator attachment fits your machine comes down to pin size and spacing, not the brand of the excavator.

Whether a mini excavator attachment fits your machine comes down to pin size, not the brand or model on the side of the excavator. Here is what to measure and where the common fit problems show up.

What Determines Whether a Mini Excavator Attachment Fits?

A mini excavator attachment fits when the pin size on your machine matches the attachment's specs. Three measurements matter:

  • Pin diameter
  • Pin center spacing
  • Ear gap, the gap between the mounting ears

Pin measurements decide fit even if Chupp Industrial does not carry your excavator model. Send your pin diameter, pin center spacing and ear gap, and our team can check them against the attachment's specs.

Will a Universal Attachment Fit a Bobcat Mini Excavator?

A universal mini excavator attachment does not always fit a Bobcat mini excavator. Every once in a while you will find an attachment that is truly universal and fits a Bobcat, but that is not guaranteed, so check your pin diameter, pin center spacing and ear gap before you buy.

Will a Mini Excavator Hammer Fit My Machine?

A mini excavator hammer fits only if its pin size matches your machine. The Chupp Industrial hydraulic hammer for mini excavators uses a 25 mm pin and is designed for compact and mini excavators.

A hammer whose pin is too small for the machine will not mount, and a different attachment is needed.

Will a Hammer Work With Half-Inch Auxiliary Couplers?

Yes, a mini excavator with half-inch auxiliary couplers should run the Chupp Industrial hydraulic hammer. The one concern is that the excavator's hydraulic system could produce more pressure than the hammer is rated for, so the PSI may need to be turned down to match the hammer's rating.
