Will a Raytree Mulcher Fit Bobcat Mini Excavators or a John Deere 50G?

2 min readChupp Industrial

Whether a Raytree mulcher fits Bobcat mini excavators or a John Deere 50G depends on pin size; running it takes enough flow and a case drain.

The Raytree 32-inch mulcher is a drum mulcher that mounts on a mini excavator's arm, and buyers with Bobcat mini excavators or a John Deere 50G most often ask whether it will fit. Whether it attaches comes down to pin size; whether it runs comes down to hydraulic flow and a case drain hookup, so check all three before you buy.

What pin size does the Raytree 32-inch mulcher use?

The Raytree 32-inch mulcher uses 45 millimeter pins with a center-to-center spacing of 10.25 inches. Measure your excavator's pin diameter and pin center-to-center distance and compare both numbers before buying. If they do not match, the mulcher will not attach directly, even if the hydraulic flow is fine.

Will the Raytree mulcher fit Bobcat mini excavators?

The Raytree 32-inch mulcher typically does not fit most Bobcat mini excavators; some do, once the pins and measurements are confirmed. Fit has to be checked machine by machine. Get your Bobcat's pin diameter, pin center-to-center spacing and case drain details and bring them back to us. We compare them against the mulcher's 45 millimeter pins and 10.25-inch spacing before you order.

Will the Raytree 32-inch mulcher fit a Bobcat E32 mini excavator?

The Raytree 32-inch mulcher will not attach directly to a Bobcat E32, because the E32's pins are 35 millimeters and the mulcher's are 45 millimeters. You need a quick coupler or adapter bracket, which a hydraulic dealer can supply. The hydraulics are not the problem: the 3-ton E32's 16.9 GPM of auxiliary flow is fine, and standard flow works. The E32 must also have a case drain to run it.

Will the Raytree 32-inch mulcher fit a John Deere 50G?

Online listings suggest the John Deere 50G uses a 50 millimeter pin, while the Raytree 32-inch mulcher is set up with 45 millimeter pins. We are not sure how a quick coupler on the 50G affects the fit, so measure your machine's actual pin diameter and center-to-center spacing first. If the pins are larger than the mulcher's, there is a fix: we have worked with a fab shop that takes the mulcher's top plate off and bores it up to 50 millimeters so the larger pins can be fitted.

Does the Raytree 32-inch mulcher need a case drain?

Yes. The Raytree 32-inch mulcher has three hoses, and one of them is a case drain that has to be hooked up to the host machine with a relief path back to tank. The mulcher may fit physically without one, but without a case drain and relief valve it will not run properly, and that could blow up the motor.
