How to Choose the Right Skid Steer Attachment

The right attachment turns a skid steer into a dozen machines. The wrong one wastes money and sits in the shed. Here is how we help customers choose.

1. Start with the job

Are you clearing brush, moving pallets, digging post holes, breaking concrete, or grading a driveway? Match the tool to the task: a brush cutter for overgrowth, an auger for holes, pallet forks for lifting, a grapple for debris and rock, a hydraulic hammer for demolition.

2. Check your machine's hydraulics

Many attachments need auxiliary hydraulic flow. Know your skid steer's GPM (gallons per minute) and whether it's standard or high flow. Under-powering an attachment is the #1 mistake we see.

3. Match the mounting plate

Most of our attachments use the universal quick-attach plate, which fits the majority of skid steers and many mini skid steers. If you run a Toro Dingo-style mini, look for that compatibility.

4. Buy quality once

A cheap attachment that bends or leaks costs more than doing it right the first time. We hand-pick brands like Wolverine, JCT, Landhonor, and Mower King because they hold up.
